Happy first Monday of October, everyone! I hope you all had a great week filled with fun, friends and plenty of other awesome stuff! If I said that this past week has been a crazy one, that would be a massive understatement. I’m currently in Miami, working on some big plans that are going to be happening in the near future, which is super exciting! It feels like I haven’t stopped since moving back to the US, and I really can’t wait to finally be settled and not have to go anywhere for a little bit. I know it sounds ridiculous, but I would love to stay in one place for more than a week or two. But, I really can’t complain. But enough about that! It’s time for Monday moments and new goals.
Let’s check out last week’s goals to see how I did:
Live in the moment
This has been a really big week for trying to stay in the moment. I have an issue with worrying about the future, so this was actually a task I may have been prepared for. However, I have a great support system who tries to help me stay in the moment and not worry so much about what’s going to happen in the next five minute. This isn’t just a weekly goal for me, it’s a daily goal, which I’m happy to say I’m successfully working on.
Take more photos!
Once again, traveling helped with this one. I have so many photos from my recent trips that I can’t wait to write my first travel post, which will be coming to you next week once I’m back from Miami. Photos are a great way to document a trip or a time. I also enjoy having the physical prints and create photo albums from them. I know it’s old school, but I love having them.
Get off my phone more and enjoy what’s going on
I was really happy when my phone started dying through out my week. It meant that I was able to focus on what was going on around me instead of being glued to apps, text messages and so on. Also, with the new Apple update, I set up the do not disturb option while driving. I am a real stickler for not texting while driving, but now my phone wants to be on top of it, too.
Pack in advance
Have you ever watched Clueless and remember the scene where Cher is taking pictures of her outfits with the Polaroid camera? Well, that kind of me when I pack. I enjoy packing because I like getting everything set up so I don’t have to think or panic too much when I’m away. I know I have everything I need. I can’t wait to share with you my packing tips, so watch out for that!
Try not to freak out if things don’t go according to plan
Well, this past week was a real doozy, and really inspired me to write the blog post on the subject. In the future, I’ll dive into my own personal struggles with anxiety, and explain why I act the way I do sometimes. But for now, I wanted to share some of my tips for trying to stay calm when things don’t go my way. There were moments over this past week when I didn’t follow my own advice, but that just made me want to work on my issues more.
So what’s the plan for this week? Let’s check it out:
- Look ahead, but stay in the moment
- Try to get a better night’s sleep
- Get ready for my 10-day technology cleanse
- Start thinking about Halloween costume ideas!
