Happy Autumn, everyone! I’m so excited fall is finally here. I’m currently in my home state of Rhode Island, fully embracing this season. Why? Because I have a huge love for all things pumpkin flavored, the colors of the leaves, and of course the fashion. I always look forward to the time I get to put on my sweaters and enjoy a coffee outside, with the crisp fall breeze floating by. This year, I’m especially excited for all of the fashion trends I plan on trying out. So here are the five fashion trends I’m planning on investing in this season.
Velvet is one of those fabrics I always remember my mom dressing me in for the holidays. I have to say that I am happy it’s come back in full force, especially in beautiful blazers like this iridescent one from Anthropologie and this one from J. CREW. I really love that you can mix and match so many colors with these options, as well as bringing a pop of color into fall.
Leopard print accent pieces
I used to be a bit hesitant about leopard print, but I’ve recently come around to loving this pattern. It’s so fun to add either a pair of flats, or a nice belt to any outfit. I’m really enjoying these heels from Asos, and don’t get me started on my obsession over this gorgeous crossbody bag from Elizabeth and James.
Flowers in bloom during Fall
It’s an understatement for me to say that I love floral prints. I’m a sucker for a great floral kimono, jumpsuit and dress. What I’m loving even more now though is the combination of florals with different textures. I’m obsessed with this velvet kimono from Anthropologie, as well as this embroidered leather jacket from Asos, which also comes in plus and petite sizes.
70s and 90s-inspired fashion
Both of these decades are filled with inspiration, whether it has to do with high culture or pop culture. These decades have always been inspirational in my life, one due to fantasizing about growing up in that time, to actually being a 90s child. You can either jump into the 90s in this flannel dress from ModCloth, be inspired by Cher Horowitz with this high wasted faux mini pencil skirt from TopShop, or channel your inner hippie with these embellished flared jeans from Free People.
All about the slipons and slingbacks
I am all about these shoes and here’s why: I swear I am prone to getting heel blisters. It doesn’t matter how well the shoes fit, if there’s a back then I’m getting a blister. Plus, these shoes are so easy! All you have to do is stick your foot in and you’re good to go! I’m really hoping to get these super cute mule heels from Urban Outfitters and maybe these adorable ballerina slingbacks from Zara.
What do you guys think? Are you all about these trends, or are you into something else? Let me know in the comments!
