Monday Moments: October 16th

Hello Monday, my old friend. I have to say, this new ‘let’s embrace Monday’ thing I’ve been trying out has really been working! I’m actually looking forward to Mondays now to reflect upon my past week. I hope you guys are having a great Monday and have taken time out of your day to reflect on all of the good things in your life. It can be so hard now with everything that’s happening in the world, so please stay safe and try to help any way you can.

Clearly, if you’ve been following my most recent posts, I’ve become obsessed with the season, and it doesn’t look like it’s slowing down at all! This week is going to be another crazy one, and I find that my perfect escape from all of it is this wonderful blog that I love. So I think there will be more posts than ever coming your way!

Enough of that though! Let’s check out last week’s goals to see how it went:

Start eating more vegetables; have a more balanced diet

Thanks to my family, I’ve definitely been eating a lot more vegetables/having a more balanced diet. My weight and nutrition has always been an issue in my life, and something I’ve had to become more and more comfortable talking about. I’m happy that I have the support of my family and friends that want to help me when I’m not at my strongest.

Jumpstart my exercise plan since I’ve been a bit lax about it lately

Yay for exercise! It’s crazy how when I get back into it that I forget how much energy I have afterward! I love how exercise makes me feel and I’m so happy I gave myself this challenge last week. I also published my workout playlist, which definitely helps kick my butt into high gear.

Find fun DIY Halloween pumpkin ideas

I posted about my five favorite no-carve DIY pumpkins for Halloween this past week, and I’m so excited to say that I’ve convinced some of my friends to actually make a couple of them! I can’t wait to snap some photos and share with you all how they come out.

Take five minutes out of my day to reflect

Of course, what would my week be like without some kind of reflection. I didn’t do this every day, but when I did, it really helped me feel more balanced. It’s difficult to take just five minutes to think about the good when you have so much going on. But it really does help you feel more settled, and in my case, more whole.

So what’s the plan for this week? Let’s check it out:

  • Try to get more sleep! Four hours is definitely NOT enough
  • Now that I have some packing to do, it looks like I need to clean out my closet and figure out what I need to bring and what I can leave
  • Read! I have not taken enough time this past week to actually read more than five pages in one sitting, probably because I’ve been so tired
  • Keep going to the gym, even when I don’t feel very confident or secure
