I can’t stress enough how happy I am living back in the States. I really missed so much, especially being able to watch my shows the night they come on instead of having to wait until the next day. This fall has been amazing with television so far, with so many of my shows being back, and their premiere episodes making me jump for joy. I thought I’d share with you my five favorite television shows that are on now, because if there’s one thing I know, it’s television.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, The CW, Fridays at 8:00pm EST
Now if you haven’t seen this AMAZING show yet, just listen to the theme song of the first season and it’ll tell you what it’s about. Rebecca Bunch is the prime example of what every woman has thought at some point in their lives when in a relationship, or just before or after. I mean, she can be a bit extreme (check out this season premiere to understand how extreme), but through all of the songs and her friends, the show gives you a good laugh, cry, and a bunch of emotions in between.
Will & Grace, NBC, Thursdays at 9:00pm EST
When I found out that this show was coming back, I could not stop smiling and screaming! I’ve always been a fan of Will and Grace, especially because when I was able to start watching it, I got to do it with my mom. Now that it’s back and I’m living back here, our Thursday night tradition is back after a long time. All of the characters are just as hilarious as they were when they left us, and it’s like they never were off our screens.
American Horror Story: Cult, FX, Tuesday at 10:00 EST
Ryan Murphy’s epic series is back with a new season of absolute craziness. I was a bit skeptical of the first couple of episodes, but then in total AHS fashion, I got hooked with the twists and turns that came out of left field. This season focuses around a cult (obviously) in Michigan that becomes active after the election. So the fact that this season is happening in real time is pretty insane. Add in the new level of torture and clowns and you have (if I may say) one of the best seasons yet. Also, can we talk about how incredible Evan Peters is this time around? Start watching and you’ll see what I mean.
Broad City, Comedy Central, Wednesdays at 10:30pm EST
Abbi and Ilana are back at it with the fourth season of their show. I have to admit that I’ve loved it since the first episode, which is why it’s made it on my list. So far this season has been incredible, with the most recent episode being illustrated by artist Mike Perry. If you haven’t checked out the ladies’ wild shenanigans then you’re really missing out. Watch Abbi and Ilana navigate their way through their 20s in NYC, including a lot of hilarious moments. This show will give you a lot of laughs due to being a bit out there, but still being super relatable.
Any of The Real Housewives, Bravo, Like every night of the week
I’d pretty much be disowned if I didn’t include my favorite television show franchise. I’ve watched every season, every reunion and (almost) every special. I just can’t get enough of these hilarious women. It started out as something my mom and I used to watch together, but then it somehow took off with me and now I am practically watching Bravo constantly so I don’t miss a table flip, a weave pull or a glass break. If you haven’t watched any yet and want to start, there is usually a new season coming your way every couple of months, so you’ll never have to be without one group of crazy ladies.
